Water: The World's Most Precious Resource

My video was inspired by my school's current fifth-grade IB unit, "Sharing the World." This unit's main investigation is how water is a limited resource, its impact on stakeholders, and how it connects us all. I began by creating the narration and then moved on to a storyboard, where I brainstormed images to accompany each section. Finding images proved challenging at times, as options were limited or did not align with my initial vision. I obtained most images from Pexels and two images from Unsplash. For the music, I listened to a dozen tracks on Incompetech to find one that fit the theme of my video—a subtle, calming background that complemented the tone water creates.

Editing was my favorite part and reminded me of my time in television production—it was just like riding a bike. I added all my images and organized them in the timeline, then recorded the narration in sections using Clipchamp due to my anxiety when speaking. I edited the images and transitions to fit each section, adding effects such as a rotation on the first image of the world and transitions like Cross Fade, Fades through Black/White, Diamond Vertical, and Soft Wipe Right. Music was adjusted for volume and timing, and I created the intro slide, captions, and outro using text tools.
